Race Notes: Spanish Grand Prix

Hi all, today is race day! Below I will outline what everyone should expect to happen tonight, starting with the format, but also looking at some other important notes for tonight.

Track: Spain, Catalunya
Practice: 7.15pm (Optional)
Lobby Open: 7.50pm
Qualifying: Short Quali session, 18 minutes
Race: 50%

Corner cutting will be set to strict, so please refrain from exceeding track limits, it will be the same for everyone. Full damage will also be included and ghosting for tonight’s event will also be turned on. All penalties and flags will also be included.


Expectations:

This is the final test race before we head into the Championship and the first race at 50% distance. The drivers are largely the same as last week, although there is a couple new faces with Hilly and Myles joining, so big welcome to those.

I would expect that we follow all of the rules set out in the driver/discord handbooks, so in short we want clean, respectful racing throughout as we did in the induction.


FIA/Stewarding:

As tonight is an official race, there is a full steward panel. On this weeks steward panel myself (Callum), Deano and Robbo. Stewarding will be fair and appropriate. This is the first time that stewarding has taken place so I would like to outline some important information to you;

First of all, if you wish to take someone to the stewards office then you will need proof. You can do this by recording your race and uploading footage to YouTube. Post the link to the footage in the discord under the FIA section that’s called ‘Catalunya appeals.’ It will be very difficult to steward any incident without footage and therefore it is unlikely you will get a favourable decision without.

If appeals are made, they must be uploaded by 7pm on Monday as the stewards meeting will be taking place at 8pm that same day. Any appeals will be looked into and reported back to the league under ‘steward findings’ on Wednesday.

If anyone has any concerns over driver conduct from either a track or personal point of view, please let me know privately.

How to set up recording:

On PS menu, go to settings > sharing and broadcasts > Video Clip settings > Length of Video Clip. Set the time to 60 minutes.

Before we start the warm up lap double press the share button and it will record your whole race. If you forget, after the race click the share button and ‘save video clip’ this will also capture the last 60 minutes.

You can crop your footage down in the share factory or upload the whole thing to YouTube and time stamp it so we know where the incident is.
