Catalunya Findings
Wed May 26, 2021 10:01 am
Well done to everyone for keeping it clean this week. There was no serious incidents and that is something I hope continues throughout the season. Here is this weeks findings.
Alemanicao / Jonathan.
After reviewing the incident multiple times, myself, Deano and Robbo have come to the following conclusion.
Penalty:
None, Warning.
Explanation:
As this incident was not appealed directly by Jonathan, there was no consequences to either driver and we cannot be certain whether oversteer did or did not play a part in Ale’s manoeuvre, we have come to the conclusion that no penalty should be awarded. However, we would like to remind Ale and all drivers that making such late moves could be deemed dangerous and require action from stewards in the future.
Alemanicao / James Laws
Some people may be aware of an incident between Alemanicao and James Laws on Sunday. James L was understandably frustrated at the incident and referred to Mexican driver Ale as ‘Sergio Perez.’ Myself, Ale and James all spoke after the race and no offence was taken, Ale also saw the funny side of it. Ale provided footage and all was deemed to be a racing incident and no action needed to be taken.
On this incident I would just like to add that I will make every effort to ensure people don’t feel discriminated against and it’s always a fine like between offensive language and banter. In this case it was good to see two drivers immediately after the race have a quick chat and see the funny side.
This concludes this weeks stewards findings.
