Monaco Findings

We all know Monaco is tight and tricky and it often leads to close racing and incidents. This week we saw 4 safety cars and more incidents then we have had in previous weeks, so hopefully we can return to normality in Belgium. This weeks findings are as followed:

All 5 second penalties appealed will be removed (Wissy, Shane & Callum) as they were given through the game wrongly. The only affect this has is that Callum moves to P1 as expected.


Wissy/Myles: Warning for Myles

If it unfortunate for Wissy that his race was somewhat ruined by Myles ghosting through him, putting him off and causing him to lose places. We hope this will not happen again.

Reason:
Myles as a lapped car did have the right to pass so long as he was quicker, which he was. However, all unlapping should be done as if ghosting is off and we should not be driving through people, putting them off. On this occasion, the stewards have decided to give Myles a warning as we are sure there are no bad intentions, just a lack of clarity from the rule book. Moving forward we would expect people to pass fairly.


Aleman/Robbo T1: Aleman 10 second penalty

Reason:
The video evidence came from Shane’s on board camera and shows Aleman out braking himself into T1. It could be the case that he was pushed into the back of Robbo and therefore you do have the right to appeal as always with proof. Assuming that’s not the case and that you out-braked yourself as it appears, the stewards have chosen to award a 10 second time penalty to Aleman’s finishing time. The 10 second time penalty is in accordance with causing minor damage to another car.
